Planning On Going To Baseball’s Spring Training? Here’s A Tip!
Many Americans travel south in the late winter and early spring to build a vacation around Major League Baseball’s spring training schedule. I speak from experience when I say that escaping the cold weather in the north and enjoying some sunshine while watching tons of relaxing baseball games is a must-do at least one time in every sports fan’s life.
The games are great, the weather is (usually) great, and the ballfields are fabulous, but here is an overlooked tip to maximize the amount of fun you’ll have. Pass on staying in the chain hotel. Staying in hotels can not only make you feel like some of the possibilities of your trip are being narrowed down for you, but it can also take some of the “local flavor” out of your trip. Instead, rent a house or condo covering your stay in the area and it’ll feel like more of a hands-on experience. For example, if your plans call for you to be in the Scottsdale, Arizona area… then check out Scottsdale rentals and see if there is something that catches your eye.
The main idea is that by renting a home or condo, your residence is accentuating your vacation… by staying in just another chain hotel room, your vacation is conforming to that hotel’s policies and shortcomings.
The 1999 Jacksonville Jaguars
The 1999 Jacksonville Jaguars had one of the more spectacular seasons, especially considering the franchise was only five years old. Quarterback Mark Brunell was hitting all receivers and Running Back Fred Taylor was blazing past Linebackers and DBs. The Jaguars finished the season with a record of 14-2. They went on to win their first playoff game before losing their second and going home; giving them a total record of 15-3 counting the playoffs.
One of the more interesting things regarding that 15-3 record is who they lost those three games to. The first loss came against the divisional rival the Tennessee Titans. Later in the season the Jaguars met the Titans for their rematch and unfortunately (for Jacksonville) they came out on the short end of the stick again. Still, finishing the season with a record of 14-2 was pretty impressive and everyone was excited about the team’s prospects in the playoffs. In the divisional round the Jaguars went up against Dan Marino and the Miami Dolphins and destroyed their opponents by the score of 62-7. This brought Jacksonville to its next playoff game, against Tennessee who had already beaten them twice. The Titans were victorious again and the Jaguars season was over.
The Jacksonville Jaguars finished that season with a record of 15-3 with all three losses coming to the same team; the Tennessee Titans. The Titans became the first team ever to beat an opponent in three separate games during one season.
Adrian Peterson And His Pro Bowl MVP Award
Minnesota Vikings’ rookie running back followed up his tremendous debut season with an MVP performance in the Pro Bowl. Who is the last rookie to win the Pro Bowl MVP? The answer is Marshall Faulk for the Indianapolis Colts in 1995. You have to think that if Adrian Peterson had a career that came even close to the career that was had by Marshall Faulk that the Vikings and all his fans would be ecstatic.
Online Insurance Quotes Can Relieve Stress
Buying insurance, any kind of insurance, can be a stressful time. Insurance is one of any family’s most important expenses as we count on it to be there in times of tragedy and discomfort. Having insurance is meant to ease our minds, but choosing insurance can be a whole other thing altogether. There are many questions that swim around in our heads before, during, and after the purchase of a new policy has been made.
Some of those questions that we wonder about are:
How much coverage do I need?
What deductibles should I carry on which vehicles?
Is it necessary to carry the same amount of insurance on every vehicle or each person in my family?
What level of customer service should I expect from insurance companies?
Did I get quoted the best rate possible?
Questions like these persist whether you are considering buying automobile insurance, home insurance, courier insurance, health insurance, business insurance, or any other kind of insurance you may be looking for. While it is impossible to alleviate every concern when shopping for insurance quotes, doing an online comparison can ease a lot of that stress. When you check for insurance quotes online you see the results of a number of different companies all at the same time. This is usually favorable to making numerous phone calls, or worse yet face-to-face meetings, with a number of local insurance companies in your neighborhood. It takes far less time and usually can lead to searching more competitive rates and policies.
Next time you need to shop for insurance, we highly recommend looking for quotes online first.
Long Championship Drought For the Oilers/Titans
The Tennessee Titans, or as the Houston Oilers before their move to Tennessee, have had a long successful run as a professional football team in the National Football League. The team has had star players (Earl Campbell, Warren Moon, Eddie George, Steve McNair, and more), made playoff appearances, and been involved in classic games; but, it is hard to improve on the franchise’s beginnings.
The Houston Oilers played their first season in 1960 as part of the upstart American Football League. The team was successful from the start, appearing in the first three AFL Championship games and winning the first two.
No matter what the team accomplishes now, it won’t match up to their incredible start of winning the championship in their first two seasons ever until they win the Super Bowl.
