In the divisional round the Jaguars went up against Dan Marino and the Miami Dolphins and destroyed their opponents by the score of 62-7. This brought Jacksonville to its next playoff game, against Tennessee who had already beaten them twice. The Titans were victorious again and the Jaguars season was over.

The Jacksonville Jaguars finished that season with a record of 15-3 with all three losses coming to the same team; the Tennessee Titans. The Titans became the first team ever to beat an opponent in three separate games during one season.
