Barry Sanders’ Magical 1997 Season
The Detroit Lions legendary running back Barry Sanders enjoyed the statistical best year of his career in 1997 when he rushed for 2,053 yards, in the process setting an NFL record with 14 consecutive 100-yard games. The amazing thing about this is that after the first two games of the season he only had 53 rushing yards after being held to 33 by Atlanta and then 20 by Tampa Bay. He would go on to avenge this poor performance against Tampa Bay in their rematch later that year when he ran for 215 yards.
