Marshawn Lynch has really made a name for himself on the football field in the NFL with both the Buffalo Bills and the Seattle Seahawks. He has a rare combination of speed and power and is a pure joy to watch. Before coming to the NFL though, Marshawn Lynch put on some good shows in college for the Cal Bears too. In particular was a certain great game he had against the University of Washington.
2004: Cal 42 – Washington 12
When halftime came, the Cal Bears were leading the Washington Huskies by the score of just 7-6. The second half would definitely heat up though.
Marshawn Lynch had a second quarter touchdown reception of 29 yards which had been his team’s only score of the half. His scoring would not stop there though as he would then score on a 32 yard run in the third quarter and also a 70 yard run in the fourth quarter.
That day saw Marshawn Lynch average 13.4 yards per carry when he gained 121 yards on just nine carries. In addition to his touchdown reception and great game rushing, Lynch also completed the one pass he attempted that day too for 14 yards.
Marshawn Lynch’s 121 rushing yards were only good enough for a tie for the rushing lead in the game though as his teammate J.J. Arrington also had 121 yards rushing that day, though he did it on more carries.
