NFL Wide Receivers Moving Up The All-Time Leaders List In 2017

With the 2017 season upon us, we thought it was time to look and see if there are any receivers poised to move up on the all-time receiving lists.

Receptions
Within the top ten all-time list for career receptions in the NFL are three active receivers going into the 2017 season. At 3rd place with 1,125 receptions is Larry Fitzgerald, sitting in 7th place is tight end Jason Witten with 1,089 receptions, and just behind him in 9th place with 1,076 receptions is Anquan Boldin. Boldin is just 26 behind Marvin Harrison and 4th place. Witten is 36 behind Larry Fitzgerald, currently in third place. Fitzgerald won’t likely move up on the list as he remains 200 career receptions behind Tony Gonzalez and second place.

Receiving Yards
Coming into the 2017 season, there is just one active wide receiver ranked on the all-time receiving yards leaders list: Larry Fitzgerald. Fitzgerald is in 9th place overall with 14,389 receiving yards, only 44 more than Reggie Wayne. If Fitzgerald pulled off a 1,000 yard season, something he’s done eight times during his career, he will move past Marvin Harrison, Steve Smith, Tim Brown, Tony Gonzalez, Isaac Bruce, and Randy Moss into third place all-time. This would be an amazing jump up the list and also completely possible.

Touchdown Receptions
There are two active receivers on the NFL all-time leaders list for touchdown receptions. Tight end Antonio Gates is tied for 6th on the list with 111 TD receptions. Sitting in 8th place on the list is Larry Fitzgerald with 104. Gates would need 18 touchdown receptions to move up on the list past Marvin Harrison. Fitzgerald needs just eight TD receptions to pass Tony Gonzalez, and into the same area where Gates would be.
