New Mexico Lobos Quarterbacks Taken In The NFL Draft

The New Mexico Lobos football team competed as an independent school from its inception in 1892 up through 1930. Since then it has been a part of four conferences, the Border Intercollegiate Athletic Association, Mountain States Conference, Western Athletic Conference, and the Mountain West Conference. Some great players have come through the University of New Mexico and moved on to the National Football League like Robin Cole, Preston Dennard, Terance Mathis, Don Perkins, David Sloan, and Brian Urlacher.

Most of the attention in football though goes towards the quarterbacks and with that in mind, here is a look at the New Mexico Lobos quarterbacks who have been drafted into the NFL.

Ben Monroe – 1967 – Eagles – 12th Round

Steve Myer – 1976 – Seahawks – 4th Round

Brad Wright – 1981 – Dolphins – 4th Round

Buddy Funck – 1985 – Broncos – 10th Round

Stoney Case – 1995 – Cardinals – 3rd Round
