Plaxico Burress is not sneaking up on anyone, during his five seasons in Pittsburgh he was known to be a great talent, but this year he is overcoming injuries and coming into his own. He is on pace to break 1000 yards receiving, which he has done three times before, but the big thing is his touchdown production.
Burress’ biggest year, touchdown-wise, was 2006 when he scored 10 touchdowns. The next best total he put up was seven which he did twice (in 2002 and 2005). This season, through eight games he is at 8 touchdowns. While there is no assurance that he will keep up this rate and finish with 16 touchdowns, it is almost a given that he will break his personal best of ten in one season.
