Few athletes can lay a claim to even approaching the popularity that Bo Jackson achieved during the late 1980s and early 1990s. The star athlete excelled on both the football and baseball fields and hist two-sport superstardom took the world by storm. Soon there were “Bo Knows…” this and “Bo Knows…” that commercials and advertisements every where. He was drafted in the first round of the NFL Draft by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and passed up the opportunity to play professional baseball, only to sign a contract after being drafted by the NFL’s Raiders the very next year. He would only play for the Raiders in football, though in baseball he would see action with three different teams, the Kansas City Royals, the Chicago White Sox, and the California Angels. Following a severe hip injury that would result in hip replacement surgery, Jackson’s NFL career would be finished but he would continue playing baseball.
