Dick Butkus: In The Movies


Dick Butkus is an NFL legend and one of the most famous linebackers ever to play the game of football. He played nine seasons, from 1965 to 1973 with the Chicago Bears and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1979. He was one of the most feared defensive players in the game and could have lasted longer had not a series of knee injuries ended his career. He is often rated highly in many of the popular rankings of all time great football players and athletes. During his nine years in the NFL, Dick Butkus went to eight Pro Bowls and was the NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 1969 and 1970. He was named to the NFL’s 1960s All-Decade Team, 1970s All-Decade Team, and 75th Anniversary All-Time Team. After his career was over, Butkus ventured into broadcasting as well as acting.
