2014 saw Amari Cooper win the Biletnikoff Award as the nation’s top receiver while at the University of Alabama. He came into the NFL with high expectations and almost immediately lived up to them with his new team the Oakland Raiders. Here is a look at five things you may not know about this great receiver.

As a receiver in college at the University of Alabama, Amari Cooper caught 31 touchdown passes. He caught 11 in 2012, four in 2013, and 16 in 2014.

That Jersey Number

Amari Cooper wears jersey number 89 for Oakland. Other notable players who have worn that number for the team include Ronald Curry, James Jones, Trey Junkin, Alexander Wright, Bill Miller, and Gene Prebola.

First Penalty

The first penalty Amari Cooper ever committed in the NFL came in his very first game, a Raiders loss to the Bengals, when he was flagged for offensive pass interference.
