Before Tom Brady came to the team, Drew Bledsoe was looked at by many as the best quarterback in New England Patriots history. Based on his accomplishments and the turnaround that the team saw during his early years there, it is still accurate to call him one of the best they have ever had.
Bledsoe came out of Washington State University in 1993 as the number one overall selection by the Patriots in that year’s NFL Draft. Under Bledsoe, the Patriots offense became feared and high powered. He even helped the team make it all the way to the Super Bowl. He would go on to play for the Buffalo Bills and Dallas Cowboys, but he will always be considered a New England Patriot.
Who were his favorite receivers though? Here are the top five receivers based on how many touchdowns were thrown to them by Drew Bledsoe.
Ben Coates – 45
Terry Glenn – 31
Eric Moulds – 16
Vincent Brisby – 14
Shawn Jefferson – 13
One of New England fans favorite receivers barely missed the list. Longtime Patriot Troy Brown caught 12 career touchdown passes from Drew Bledsoe.
