In celebration of Pittsburgh’s Super Bowl win, every day this week will be a new and interesting Pittsburgh Steelers fact.
In the recent Pittsburgh Steelers Super Bowl victory over the Arizona Cardinals, Ben Roethlisberger showed off what has become a trademark for him. He seems to consistently avoid getting sacked, is able to scramble somewhat and then deliver a decent pass, all while under heavy pressure. The truth though is that Ben Roethlisberger is one of the most sacked quarterbacks in Pittsburgh Steelers team history. Three of the top four seasons in terms of quarterbacks getting sacked belong to Big Ben. The number one spot on the list belongs to Cliff Stoudt, who in 1983 was sacked 51 times. Roethlisberger then owns the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th spots on the list. In 2007 he was sacked 47 times, in 2006 46 times, and in 2008 he was again sacked 46 times.
