The New England Patriots are one of the most successful and popular team in recent years and much of this is due to the play of their quarterback. Before Tom Brady and Drew Bledsoe, the New England quarterback that had made the biggest mark on the team was Steve Grogan.
Grogan came to the team in the mid 1970’s out of Kansas State University and in his early days was known as a bit of a scrambling quarterback. There were a couple of seasons he even gained quite a few yards on the ground. Grogan was also a fair passer too and made a number of big plays during his career. Who did he throw the most touchdown passes to during his time in the NFL?
Here are the top five receivers ranked by how many touchdown passes they caught from Steve Grogan.
Stanley Morgan – 39
Russ Francis – 22
Harold Jackson – 17
Irving Fryar – 14
Don Hasselbeck – 12
It may be interesting to note is the fact that Don Hasselbeck is the father of eventual NFL quarterbacks Tim and Matt Hasselbeck.
