Roger Staubach is one of the most important players in Dallas Cowboys history. The Cowboys began as a franchise in 1960 and had a rough first few years in the league. They drafted Staubach in 1964, but due to his playing at the Naval Academy and having a commitment to the armed forces, he would be unable to join the team until the end of the decade. He was instrumental in helping turn the team into consistent winners and even becoming known as America’s Team.
