The Atlanta Falcons have had a somewhat tough existence in the National Football League since joining it in the late 1960s. Except for Steve Bartkowski from the mid 1970s to the mid 1980s, throughout their time in the league the team has lacked a consistent starter at the position of quarterback. Through the 2008 season, the Falcons have had eleven different quarterbacks who have started sixteen or more games for the team in their career. Of those eleven, only four have winning records. Chris Chandler (34-33), Michael Vick (38-28-1), and Bob Lee (10-8) are all on that list. But when ranked by winning percentage, Matt Ryan is above them all with his 11-5 record.
Falcons fans all over Georgia only hope that percentage grows and grows over the years.
