The Most 100 Yard Rushing Games In New York Giants History

The New York Giants are one of the most storied franchises in NFL history. Throughout their time in the league they have had great years, great teams, and great players. They have especially had more than their fair share of very good running backs. Over all those years and through 2010 though, who has the most 100 yard rushing games for the New York Giants?

A decent amount of players have broken the 100 yard mark in a game for the Giants one time in their careers, including Tyrone Wheatley, Butch Woolfolk, Mel Triplett, George Adams, Ottis Anderson, Larry Csonka, Vince Clements, Bob Gaiters, Phil King, Ernie Koy, Joe Montgomery, Charles Way, and Joe Morrison. Three players passed the 100 yard mark in a game twice for the Giants, they are Ron Dayne, Lewis Tillman, and Alex Webster. Derrick Ward and Billy Taylor each accomplished the feat three times while Doug Kotar did it once more than them. In 1998, Gary Brown would have six 100 yard games, the only ones he had for the team. Ahmad Bradshaw and Rob Carpenter each did it seven times while wearing the Giants uniform.

Five players though stand above all the rest as they all ran for more than 100 yards in a game ten or more times. Here then are the top five New York Giants running backs when ranked by how many 100 yard games they had for the team.

#5 – Ron A. Johnson
A very productive running back for the Giants in the early 1970s was Ron A. Johnson. From 1970 to 1973, he put together exactly 10 100 yard games.

#4 – Brandon Jacobs
From 2007 to 2010, Brandon Jacobs compiled 11 100 yard games and played an important role in the Giants being one of the better teams during that timespan.

#3 – Rodney Hampton
Rodney Hampton spent a few years as one of the best running backs in the league. While he was being recognized for his skills he was also putting together 17 100 yard games for New York.

#2 – Joe Morris
A fan favorite and a major contributor to the great New York Giants teams of the 1980s, Joe Morris had 19 games during his time with the Giants where he would rush for 100 or more yards in a game.

#1 – Tiki Barber
Tiki Barber stands tall above the rest in this category as he has exactly twice as many 100 yard games on his record for the Giants as the player in second place. From 1997 to 2006, Barber accumulated 38 100 yard games.
