The Most 100 Yard Rushing Games In New York Jets History

The New York Jets started play in professional football in 1960 as the New York Titans. Over the years, they have had some great teams, good teams, average teams, and even bad teams. They have also had some great players, including at the position of running back.

One of the most used measuring sticks for judging a running back’s effectiveness is the 100 yard game. Who in New York Jets history has the most 100 yard rushing games?

Through the 2010 season, 30 different running backs have had 100 yard games for the Jets. Those that have done it once include names like LaDainian Tomlinson, Bruce Harper, and Brad Baxter. Those that have done it twice include players like Ed Marinaro, Leon Washington, Shonn Greene, and Blair Thomas. Bill Mathis and Kevin Long each did it three times. Johnny Johnson did it four times, and Johnny Hector and Clark Gaines each rushed for 100 yard games six different times. Just missing double digits in this category for the team are Emerson Boozer and Adrian Murrell who each accomplished this feat nine times.

There are five running backs in Jets history that have ran for 100 rushing yards or more in a game ten times or more for the team.
