The New England Patriots are one of the more successful franchises in the NFL, especially when looking at just recent history. They have won multiple Super Bowls, conference championships, and division titles. They have had great players make up their best teams and have always seemed to have a great passing game.
The wide receivers that have played for the team over the years have been a big part in their success. Who though leads the team in 1,000 yard seasons in receiving yards?
Through 2010, eight different players have had 1,000 yard receiving seasons for the New England Patriots. Half of those though have only done it once, they are Harold Jackson in 1979, Irving Fryar in 1991, Ben Coates in 1994, and Troy Brown in 2001.
Four other players though have had multiple 1,000 yard receiving seasons.
In second place on the list with two 1,000 yard receiving seasons is Terry Glenn who accomplished the feat in 1996 and 1999.
Tied for first though with the most 1,000 yard receiving seasons in Patriots history are three players.
Between 1979 and 1986, Stanley Morgan broke the 1,000 yard barrier in receiving yards on three different occasions.
Randy Moss also put together three 1,000 yard receiving seasons and did so consecutively from 2007 to 2009.
The third player tied for the lead is Wes Welker who also broke the 1,000 yard mark each year from 2007 to 2009.
