-Four players have led the Lions in rushing four times: Bob Hoernsohemeyer (1950-53), Nick Pietrosante (1959-61, 1964), Dexter Bussey (1975-76, 1978-79), and Kevin Jones (2004-07).

-Billy Sims led the Lions in rushing five times, from 1980 to 1984.

-Barry Sanders led the Lions in rushing an amazing ten times, from 1989 to 1998.
