- The Birmingham Americans signed famed Oakland Raiders Quarterback Kenny Stabler to play for them.
- The Birmingham Americans won World Bowl I over the Florida Blazers by a score of 22-21.
- The Birmingham Americans not only won the first World Football League Championship, they also hosted it as well.
- For the WFL’s second season, the Birmingham Americans were back as the Birmingham Vulcans.
- When the league folded after week 12 of the 1975 season, the Birmingham Vulcans had the best record at 9-3. Because of this, they were named 1975 World Football League Champions.
