• At the start of the 1975 season, the Hawaiians signed longtime Dallas Cowboy star Calvin Hill.

• Calvin Hill, the team’s star running back during the 1975 season is the father of former Duke University and NBA basketball star Grant Hill.

• The Hawaiians were the only WFL team, and one of the few professional teams ever, to not officially have a state or city as part of their name – they were just The Hawaiians.

• The Hawaiians are the only major professional sports franchise to ever be based in Hawaii.
