  • Running Back Rod Smart, who would go on to play in the NFL, was possibly the most famous XFL player after he put the words “He Hate Me” on the back of his jersey in place of his name. His original intent was to have his jersey say “They Hate Me” but there wasn’t enough room.
  • Rod “He Hate Me” Smart led the team in rushing yards with 555.
  • Rod Smart is one of only two players to play in the XFL and also make it to the Super Bowl in the NFL, he accomplished that as part of the Carolina Panthers. The other player is Tommy Maddox who was the backup Quarterback on the Super Bowl winning Pittsburgh Steelers.
  • The Book Long Bomb by Brett Forrest is about the lone XFL season and focuses on the Las Vegas Outlaws.
